Laureta diary of “People of Progress” a Erasmus+ project in Wroclaw-Poland

A youth exchange financed by Erasmus + // Project by “Stowarzyszenie Youth Human Impact” // Theme: Public Relations and Marketing

23 September 2016, Day 1

It’s 7,00 o’ clock when I left from a little town of Tuscany, Empoli, near Firenze (Italy). My first trip alone. I was enthusiast and afraid, in the same time. But when I arrived to Bergamo Airport and I have met Alessandra, Agnese and Marco, I felt quiet.

14500362_699933963494093_1238511304272628156_oThe trip from Italy to Poland has been good, and it has not been difficult find our Wratislavia Hostel in Wroclaw. It was a nice colored high structure. Marco was our group leader. He was so funny, and I loved the way he laughed. He made me laugh, too. After he talked with the receptionist, he directed us in our respective room.

After 10 minutes someone knocked on the door. There were three guys from Cech Republic: Thomas, Jonas and Marek. They looked so polite.

At 18 o’ clock, we all met each other at the hall of the Hostel, waiting to go to have dinner. We were a lot of partecipants: some from Italy, some from Cech Republic and some, obsviously, from Poland. I thinked that I wasn’t able to learn all their names, but I was determinated to know everyone.

After almost walking 15 minutes, we arrived to our sort of restaurant. It was a Kebab Shop. The food wasn’t excellent, it was all fried. We drunk hot tea. It was terrible for me, because I try to eat healthy. Obviously, after dinner, I wanted to buy a bottle of water, but I discovered that in Poland the currency is Złoty (PLN), and not “Euro”.

Walking, walking, we have arrived in front of an amazing church in the Old Town of Wroclaw. It was spectacular. The lights, the sounds around, the bubbles blower, the colours, the architecture., every particular. I was in love with that atmosphere. I was in love with Wroclaw.

24 September 2016, Day 2

At 8.00 we woke up. The organizators of the project has prepaired our breakfast. There were sweet food and salt food.

After breakfast, everyone presented himself. It was funny, because we were in a cycle and you had to remember the names of all guys and repeat. Suddenly, I learned the names of them.

The weather was shiny. We went out and, after a lot of funny games to know well each other, our project begun.

Adrianna, one of the organizer of the project, explained our works on a big paper. There were a lot of points to do, and we had a little time. Infact, the prove called ” (IN) possible”. Was it a coincidence? I think no. It was nice. For example, we had to sing a song from our country, to interview people about Wroclaw, to dance “Gangnam Style”, to create a logo about our project “People of Progress”.

At afternoon, our job became more difficult, but more fascinating too. We had to go around the town, looking for the little dwarves that contribute to representing Wroclaw. It was a treasure hunt. Playing, we have visited the town, too.

25 September 2016, Day 3

14479746_701312376689585_8336746565241407333_nThe program of Sunday was “Creation of my advertisement and spot”; It has been especially a “marketing day”; infact, during the morning we have been divided in 4 group and each group had to promote a product typical of Wroclaw. I didn’t think that I was so creative. My group (Thomas, Agnese, Alexandra) invented an advertisement with a modern tale of Hansel&Gretel, set in the centre of Wroclaw. It was amazing! We have been extraordinary directors!

Instead, at afternoon, we had tried to promote our actions, creating advertising campaign. Me and my new group (Vit, Thomas, Monika) have choosed to talk about the theme of obesity to sensitise people to eat well and healthy. It was cool!

After dinner, we go to the Multimedia Fountain show! I didn’t feel good, because it was cold, I had lost my voice, and I was almost sick. But when the show begun – Oh my God! – it let me without words! Suddenly I forgot my situation! I was enchanted by the colours of the water, the music, the way that the water moved to the beat! Absolutely spectacular!

Until now I have tried to explain what we have done in the project. But now I want to write a few lines about the people who have accompanied me in this adventure:
Alena, Alessandra, Luciano, Marek 1, Marek 2, Marek 3, Agnese, Laura, Claudia, Marco, Giulio, Jonas, Adrianna, Monika, Patryk, Thomas, Jolana, Martina, Guglielmo, Aleksandra, Vit, Mateusz, Krzysztof, Marlena, Dagoda.
We wew so many pieces of a puzzle. Everyone with its own particularities, but characterized by a common determination, the same determination that led us to begin this experience. I love their smiles, the ways they talk or they move. We live so far each other, but never as this time I have been so near to people. They were as my brothers and sisters. I think this has been the core of our project. Behind this project, there was not only a class teaching, but a humanity lesson. With all our differences, we have built something special, something that in the life of every day miss. Maybe I should speak only of the practical project, leaving aside the humanitarian side, but I think both of them complement each other, and you can not choose to describe only one.
Duty and pleasure.

26 September 2016, Day 4

This day was just a little different than previous days, because for the first time we stayed at the Hostel, all the time. It was interesting listening Agnieszka talked about Public Relations. She has studied in England, she looked funny, because she dressed with a jacket with a design full of flowers. But, then, she explained us that was to attract our attention. Brilliant!

From 20.00 o’ clock, it was our night, with folk dances, music, songs, and food from our countries. I liked this exchange of the cultures (Albanian, too).

27 September 2016, Day 5

Tuesday was the day of Journalism workshop! Two young journalists showed us the way they work, and they taught some secrets about it. They explained the importance of the media in the modern life.

In the afternoon, we dressed the role of journalists, and we went to interview people with questions about Wroclaw.

29 September 2016, Day 7

14495259_699012050252951_3979455874288192534_nThursday was the day when we became famous. Ok, I’m joking. We went to the Polish Television, but just to do our activities. But it was so fun. I saw for the first time a TV Studio. I set down on the chair of the announcer. I liked that role.

At 15.00 o’ clock, conversely, we went to a Radio Studio. So special experiences!

Until now I have tried to explain what we have done in the project. But now I want to write a few lines about the people who have accompanied me in this adventure:
